DIAGNOSTIC CENTER

 The Diagnostic Service of the National Center of Oncology is equipped with advanced, state-of-the-art diagnostic technologies that enable accurate diagnosis within a short timeframe and facilitate the early detection of diseases.

The service offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic programs, from standard scheduled examinations to complex and combined diagnostic procedures.

Diagnostic Services Include:

Ultrasound and Duplex Examinations

• Ultrasound examination of the abdominal and pelvic organs
• Ultrasound examination of the retroperitoneal space
• Thyroid ultrasound
• Soft tissue ultrasound
• Joint ultrasound
• Duplex ultrasound of the vessels of the extremities, abdomen, and neck
• Fusion imaging using the latest-generation CANON MEDICAL SYSTEMS APLIO i800 A-class ultrasound system, considered one of the most advanced ultrasound systems worldwide. The system acquired by the National Center of Oncology is unique of its kind in Armenia.

Breast Imaging

• Digital 3D mammography with all available imaging modes
• Breast ultrasound
• Ultrasound-guided biopsy of breast lesions
• Preoperative ultrasound-guided localization of lesions and pathological foci
• Needle-guided localization of pathological foci under mammographic guidance
• Radiography of excised breast specimens to confirm the removal of the targeted lesion or pathological focus

Mammographic examinations are performed using the Hologic Selenia Dimensions Digital Mammography System.

X-Ray Examinations

• Chest and musculoskeletal system imaging
• Gastrointestinal tract imaging
• Genitourinary system imaging

Bone Densitometry

Bone densitometry is performed using a state-of-the-art Hologic X-ray densitometer manufactured in 2020, which is unique in Armenia.

Computed Tomography (CT)

CT-guided interventional procedures are also performed.

CT examinations are conducted using the advanced SIEMENS Healthineers SOMATOM go.UP CT system. The system enables rapid patient examination and accurate diagnosis, including assessment of the extent and spread of oncological diseases.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

MRI examinations are performed in the Center’s new facility, commissioned in September 2023.

The service is equipped with a modern 1.5 Tesla General Electric MRI system, featuring advanced imaging protocols for the early detection of various pathological changes, their dynamic monitoring, and assessment of treatment response.

Nuclear Medicine Imaging

• Bone scintigraphy
• Renal scintigraphy
• Thyroid scintigraphy
• Lymphoscintigraphy

Scintigraphic examinations are performed using the MEDISO AnyScan SPECT/CT hybrid system, combining scintigraphy and computed tomography.

Additional Services

• Intraoperative ultrasound examinations
• Image-guided interventional procedures, including ultrasound-guided biopsies
• Spirometry
